What is the UPR?

  • The UPR (Universal Periodic Review) process is an important tool in advancing human rights and for ensuring accountability when those rights are violated.

  • At its core, the UPR is a review of a country’s human rights record

  • The country being reviewed will then made formal declarations of which recommendations it will or will not take on.

More on the UPR:

It can certainly be a lot to process. If you’re interested in learning more, you can find information here or launch the UPR quiz if you think you’ve got what it takes!
